Do you have a passion for poetry? Want to immerse yourself in beautiful rural Lincolnshire, eat delicious home cooked meals (made from farm produce) and take time out of your normal schedule to play with words? Then we would love to invite your to attend a Growing Poetry Writing Retreat at Ranby Hill Farm. Retreats typically run for a long weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning) and are hosted at the farm twice a year
“A wonderful camaraderie felt and I WROTE 15 POEMS. Luke, I would consider coming up without the poetry if it means I can taste your food every day”Participant, Growing Poetry Retreat
“Ranby Hill Farm, an absolute haven of peace and tranquility, an ideal place of retreat! At every stage I have felt loved and cared for and that’s down to the spirit of hospitality ever present”Participant, Growing Poetry Retreat
What can you expect to do whilst on retreat?
Mainly led by Jessica Boatright you will take part in several poetry writing workshops (with the emphasis on creating new work) as well as meeting like-minded people and indulging in fabulous food prepared by our in-house cook Luke. Jessica will be joined by a guest poet who will lead an afternoon session and and an evening reading of their poetry. There will also be time in the schedule for you to explore the local area and work on the poems that you’ve started in workshops, as well as an informal sharing on the Sunday evening.
“What a slice of heaven! I’ve had an amazing weekend writing poetry. Beautiful house, fantastic views, lovely walks… I have come away with so many ideas for so many poems. I have learned so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you”Participant, Growing Poetry Retreat
“The food was excellent and the whole experience felt like being at a warm and welcoming house party. Jessica proved to be a supportive and encouraging teacher. Her workshop plans had been produced with attention to detail to enable participants to realise their potential. An amazing weekend with good company”Participant, Growing Poetry Retreat
